went out to alviso saturday to experiment with some color polaroid. there is tons of contruction around the parking lot and the weird entry to the ghost docks have all been torn out. boo!

the pig is a breakfast diner in san antonio about 4 blocks from my parent's house. pinhole, color polaroid.

not a traditional silhouette, but this double exposure of the mission san jose in San Antonio has both the full image and a silhouette at a different angle. pinhole, 4x5 polaroid.

went out today to make some images. the grasses are green and the sun was low. came across this really interesting live oak that was reaching out across the space like a big wooden spider. shot b&w pinhole and some infrared.

A few more pinhole shots from New York. Washington Square Park Archway from a couple of distances. A view from my hotel room terrace - stayed at the Roger Williams hotel, which is quite lovely.

A trio of black and white pinhole shots I made while I was in New York City a couple of weeks ago. I used the ImageZero 4x5 pinhole with a polaroid back attached. Pretty interesting stuff.

polaroid version of the previous image. I actually shot this first, then laid down the abalone shell in the foreground, shot it again, but ruined my last piece of polaroid. when we switched over to paper negs, I went back to the spot to shoot it again. the polaroid is much crisper, lots more tones of grey than the paper neg. I like this image better because of that, but compositionally liked the foreground shell a lot as well.

amazing what a pinhole and black and white can do to a place. this image, from my pinhole extravaganza weekend evokes mystery and a sense of sadness in me.
this was made from a 4x5 paper negative, scanned and inverted. no other manipulation was done to the image.

today is worldwide pinhole day and I just returned from pacific grove where I did a two day pinhole photo workshop. I made images in several different formats - 4x5 polaroid, 4x5 paper negatives, 35 mm film, digital slr pinhole and panoramic in a paint can. fun stuff.
