Had a scare today. Seymour didn't come home last night - usually he's in by 11 and sleeps in until around 4 or 5 am. Then he goes out and hunts some mice and comes in again and is here when I get up. Last night - no Seymour. This morning - no Seymour. Got home from work - still no Seymour.

Hard ride out at Alviso trails this afternoon. The levys go out into the bay are much farther from land than the trails that run through Shoreline park. The wind makes riding difficult at best and challenging to say the least. It's a great workout - almost as hard as doing hills. The sun was at the perfect angle and there were Pelicans and large grey birds - Great Blue Heron? One was a baby still with the soft floppy feathers they have atop their crest before they get all slick and grown up.

the evening light filters in through the blinds and offers a new view of the cabinets I have been dragging around with me for years. they were my grandmother's and were in her kitchen for as far back as I can remember. They held wondrous things back then. I like to think they still do.

in the rose garden, the roses glow. I go out with the camera and try to capture some of it with the infrared filter. The light is the best of the day, I take the filter off and capture the glowing roses and the light filters through petals and leaves. It is summer and it has been a good day...

i have been dragging my lomo around with me in my bag and in my car for the last couple of months and finished off the latest roll over the fourth weekend. I finally took the pics to be processed and have put together an album.

The pictures are in and collected together in a little slide show. My trip was fun and the summit intense. Lots of side meetings for things I am involved in and plenty of gatherings in the bars and restaurants. Not sure I really like Vegas all that much but I barely got out of the Bellagio. It was great to see some of my favorite folks gathered all in one spot - Lou, PeterMe and PeterMo, John, Christina, George, Jesse and Rebecca as well as fun to meet some new folks - Molly, David, Lane, Mike.

If you haven't ever seen the Cirque de Soleil - I highly recommend it. If you are in Vegas - the O show is a must. After our day of summit/conference sessions, several of us went to dinner at Spagos and then to O. No pics were allowed, but I had my camera and I turned off the flash...so here are a couple of shots- I only took four. The images don't do the show justice - I was so dumbfounded by what they could do, I scarecely remembered I had my camera.

am here in Vegas for a conference (see design writings in a couple of days for the conference details). Had a couple of gin and tonics with a group of folks and then we headed out to explore the sights and sounds of the strip. we ended up walking around in circles a bit. crazy place this is.

Got my tire fixed - and purchased the right tools for next time so I can deal with it myself - and went out to Coyote Creek again this evening to do a ride. Did the full 18 mile, against the wind coming back. It was intense and I am tired - 25 miles today plus a walk. Shot these with the pencam and stitched them together to make a panorama.
