One of the things I have come to love about living here in California, is the fact that in the winter everything turns green. The rains create this intense green on the hills and while the rest of the country is dogged down by snow and the bleakness of brown and bare trees, we are experiencing a touch of spring. Here are some shots, from my last ride out at Coyote Creeek that capture the intense green of the grasses. Can't wait until the orchard trees start their show. (shot with the Lomo)

First shots with the new Lomo that I got off eBay. It seems to be ok - lens and insides are dirty requiring some cleaning out and some of the images have some ghosting issues. I like the way the images look onscreen but was not impressed with Wolf Camera's processing. They tried to correct the images and took out the super saturation that the camera does naturally. These are mostly Maggie, Seymour and the chickens at work.

Seymour in the garden enjoying the sun. A favorite place of his is in the front yard. I take advantage of his modelling skills and get to know the macro settings on the macro/zoom lens.

Words fail me. I cannot attempt to explain the field of concrete corn. Although there is a good historical explanation on the placards next to the field (which I did not photograph). I was warned about it beforehand, but when I came upon the concrete field of corn, I was amazed and astounded that such a thing existed. (Columbus , Ohio)

I am in a hotel (Embassy Suites) in Columbus Ohio. I have a cough, am still on California time and am not used to the heat being on so high. Travelling on business is always fun. Travelling in the winter, wearing a coat when driving, being sick and spending hours in airports is not fun. I had forgotten how uncomfortable it is to get all bundled up, get into your car and attempt to drive and have some mobility through all the layers. Luckily, there is no snow on the ground - I last did that when I lived in Rochester, NY. Ohio is flat and cold in January and there is a field of concrete corn on the way to the Compuserve offices. Pretty cool. Pics to come when I get back.

the bottle cube at work is a closed cube that has been filled (2 feet or so) with empty Aquafina bottles. Fun times had by all as team members dove, swam and sank in the experience. (shot with pencam)

Today is Sheila's birthday. My BABY sister turns 35. Big bash this evening. Pics will be posted soon.

Just won an auction eBay for one of the real Lomo camera's. Hopefully it is in the condition as advertised. I got it for 1/2 of what Amazon wants. Can't wait to get it and play.

Rode Coyote Creek trail today (17.5 miles). Windy and a little rainy but that makes for a less crowded trail. It is quite lovely this time of year as the hills are turning bright green while the trees and marsh grasses are browns, umbers and golds. Saw a bobcat and peacocks along the trail. This shot is facing west looking over the farmland and orchards that are left down in this area. Need to shoot this with another camera as the Pencam is not too great for landscapes.


Rode Los Gatos Creek trail yesterday from home (14.5 miles). Windy as ever but nice nonetheless.
