Close to 3 1/2 weeks without fulltime work and I am starting to get bored. I am working on the San Jose Rep site and that is keeping me busy and creatively inspired.
I am doing lots of job hunting, tons of phone interviews and lots of driving up and down highway 101 and 280. In person interviews suck - reminds me of sorority rush. It is difficult to know if you are making a good impression or not. Ultimately it is about personalities and those initial connective vibes.
I am also becoming intimate with the job hunt sites like HotJobs.com. Some are better than others, some are maddening in their user flow and I would like to redesign them. FlipDog has this interactive process that flakes out every so often and also doesn't really allow multiple selections. I found that HotJobs shows different jobs if you select a "channel" than if you just enter a keyword in the search box. Even if the keywords are the same as the what you enter in a channel. Haven't quite figured that one out yet.
Anyway - it is slow going and I know the right place is out there. In the meantime, I may take some of these consultant projects coming my way.
