Cryptonomicon

I just finished this book - C R Y P T O N O M I C O N . wow!

I guess I am a little behind the times though. I have had the book on my shelf for several months. I actually ordered it before it was released. But like some of the Stephen King books of late, I have kept it on the shelf for a rainy day.

Almost hoarding.

Sort of like the thought of the book is more intense than actually reading the book.I hate it when a book is so good that I have to read it fast in order to get through the story so I can know what happens. When I do that (stay up all night) then suddenly the book is done and I have nothing to read anymore.

Cryptonomicon was so intense, at first I didn't like it but as the pieces were woven in together I was really impressed with the level of detail Neal Stephenson has for the various aspects of the book. He seems to be an expert at the history of World War 2 on the Pacific front, an expert in crypto analysis and internet transfer as well as other stuff he went into great detail about. Needless to say, I was disappointed that the book ended because I was just really getting into it.
